DJING AND PERFORMANCES
Gigs these days are quite a rarity for me. I'm so involved with production that the only free time i get is at the weekends, so dj-ing is usually the last thing on my mind.
However, the two go hand in hand and from time to time i'll be djing out at places and hopefully creating a bit more exposure with my labels in 2012 which will lead to some more prestigious gigs.
I've been all around the world djing, and played to around 10,000 people in one club, but nothing beats the satisfaction of producing music to me, so i guess my motivation to push myself as a dj has always fallen second best to the production.
Logically, i should start focusing more on live setups, which would suit me as i'm more of a producer who djs than vice-versa. I've seen lots of things go wrong with live set-ups though, so this scares me off! haha.
It's something i'm going to tinker with next year and see how comfortable i feel with the idea, as it's easier than ever these days to do a live set with something like Ableton. Whether or not i can get enough interaction and bits playing over the top to satisfy me, that's another question.
